This site contains a deep freight-train double into the history of wrestling at Newport High School, Perry County, PA. It will eventually provide a history of wrestling from ancient times to the present, with a focus on central Pennsylvania wrestling.
Materials will next be added on wrestling in the PA Interscholastic Athletic Association's District 3 and the entire state of Pennsylvania. An article on wrestling in ancient times and the birth of modern folk style wrestling in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries will be included. Materials on college and international wrestling, the Harrisburg area and Perry County are also planned.
